Pioneer
missionary to Indians, David Brainerd rode over 3,000 miles on horseback
through the wilderness of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. His
journal, kept during his travels, was edited by Jonathan Edwards after
Brainerd's death in 1747. His accounts of setbacks, successes, and intense
spiritual devotion have inspired believers ever since. This new edition
includes a biographical sketch of Edwards by Philip E. Howard, Jr. |
